Want to know my biggest fear? My scariest moment? A most dreaded activity?
Ask me to speak in front of a room full of people and I become a bundle of nerves.
Heart racing, palms sweating and facial blushing…it’s not a pretty sight.
A Personal Challenge
My EFT Coach challenged me to attend Toastmasters meetings to gain exposure to my fear. Toastmasters is an organization whose members regularly give speeches, gain feedback, lead teams and guide others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere.
I was given instruction to simply tap while I am sitting in the audience feeling nervous about getting called to the front of the room. I went to four of the Manhattan Toastmasters meetings and was, of course, chosen to speak!
I survived all right and I am still working to release my fear of public speaking. I am not to the point where I want to speak or can even imagine enjoying it, but I haven’t given up and I am still tapping away.
In the spirit of vulnerability and honesty, what is a major fear you run away from? Have you made any headway in experiencing relief or shifts around it? Send me your stories. I love hearing from you guys and gals so send it on in…
Let’s stay connected!
