I just had a fabulous weekend, let me tell you all about it. After purchasing Margaret M. Lynch‘s new book Tapping into Wealth months ago I decided to attend her 3 day event in Boston, MA called Ignite Your Power, Manifest Your Wealth. Now that I’m back home I’ve assimilated the weekend and I feel… different somehow. Different in a good way! I’m going to tell you everything: the good, bad and the in-between.
Well Margaret is an absolute riot when she jumps up on stage, microphone taped to her freshly makeup-ed (Yeah, I just made that word up. I’m okay with it!) cheek. She’s personable, authentic and just plain lovable. She loves being on stage in lovely dresses and you can tell because she radiates it. I thoroughly enjoyed watching her do what she truly loves: speaking to an audience. I also enjoyed the interaction and sense of friendship, respect and partnership Margaret had with her three coaches: Bethaney Long, Fiona Orr and Cathy Hamilton. It was great to see her lean on her girlfriends for help during the Q&A session. I’m linking to their coaching sites in case you guys are interested in working with Margaret’s A-team!
The attendees were a fun, friendly bunch. Everyone was energetic and came ready to work. I rarely heard any complaints or negativity coming from my fellow event-goers and this definitely makes for a pleasant experience.
We made videos! Yes, yes we actually took our gloves off and got down and dirty with video marketing for our businesses. Margaret practices what she preaches as a coach: she challenged us to step out of our comfort zone. It must have been hard to stand in front of 300 people and convince us to get on camera (you know how scary it can be to be filmed on the spot!) but she did it and we rose to the challenge. I give myself and my 299 fellow attendees a well-deserved pat on the back.
The event was seamless and professionally built…nice job to Barry and her team! There were a couple of times where the schedule got behind and we were a bit grumpy about it only because we were a tired after a long day. That’s the only hiccough I noted. The look, feel and transitions of the event were smooth and professional.
Can I just say excellent choice of space?! The hotel provided a yummy buffet-style lunch each day and an amazing view of downtown Boston. I woke up to this every morning:
We got surprise cookies as an afternoon snack on day 2! Yay cookies! Okay… I’m back. I’ll act my age now. Sorry I just get really excited about surprise goodies and sweets.
All of the vendors / sponsors were value-added companies. A couple of my favorites were Vitamix and Ontraport. I thought both of these companies had great product and service offerings and their companies have a professional image to go along with what they sold. Nice job!
It’s a triggering experience. What do I mean exactly? Well you’re here with all of these people who are all on a different mission. We all were seeking answers, new clients and different experiences. It was flat out exhausting just talking to people at times.
There were many moments where it felt like everyone wanted to sell me something. Margaret’s speakers were captivating for sure. They were fun and it was fascinating to witness a snapshot of their lives. Lorel Langemeier enjoys playing in her seemingly lucrative life. Suzanne Evans has a blast on the daily in her business of creating professional video alongside her crazy-fun sidekick, Jimbo. But at the end of each presentation I just braced for the blow that was inevitably coming. It was the call to sign up for each presenter’s very own “special event with a low price created only for you if you sign up this weekend”. And these were big ticket items. Gulp. Breathe, Terran, breathe. I successfully made it through the weekend without signing over my savings account thankfully! To be fair, the point of this type of 3 day event is just that: to get you emotionally prepped and warmed up to invest in bigger, more intense programs. I totally get it. I also felt that these speakers were authentic and really did want to help us blossom to higher levels whether that translates into more money coming in for your business or professionally produced image via video. They all started from a place of struggle and worked hard to get where they are. They each had a unique and genuine story that allowed me to connect with them.
One thing I would have appreciated was more inner work in the form of tapping. This event was strategically (or as Margaret likes to joke: strategery) focused on the business marketing side and I dare to say that including more inner work would put the cherry on top, so to speak. My suggestion would be to toss in a short 5 minute tapping round led by Margaret or one of her fabulous coaches each morning and each afternoon. I think it would enrich the experience and leave us feeling changed which is exactly what us self-help junkies absolutely thrive on! We want to feel somehow different, fresh or new.
Overall, I loved this experience! You can tell that everyone poured their heart and soul into making this event extraordinary. I felt both challenged and enriched each day. I met some great EFT practitioners and coaches from all walks of life and turned a few of them into life-long friends.
At the end of the third day I gave Margaret a heartfelt video testimonial about my experience because I truly enjoyed what she offered to us as a group. She is authentic, fun, lively and personable. She jam-packed a ton of useful information and inspiration for us to savor over the course of the 3 days and I think she should win an award for this. Seriously, someone get this lady a plaque ASAP!
